After years of trying to find a good quality cleaner and anti-static, necessity, the mother of invention has forced us to come up with our own (with the help of our friends).
Sasign’s Acrylic Cleaner will help to solve your cleaning problems. Use just a small amount of the cleaner, mist it over the entire surface to be cleaned. Then in circular motions, begin cleaning the acrylic, constantly changing the surface of the cloth so as to prevent recontamination of the surface. When complete, allow the area to dry to a haze then polish off the haze with a clean dry cloth. Be careful of the cloth you use, flannelette or T-shirt materials are best due to their softness and ability to pick up contaminates. Rough cloths can scratch the surface and result in expensive down time polishing. Sasign’s Acrylic Cleaner contains silicone to provide anti-static properties, do not use prior to painting or applying vinyl. Sasign’s Acrylic cleaner comes in ready to use spray bottles or a 10/1 concentrate that you mix with tap water. This reduces the frequency of orders and cutting the original price and freight costs.
If polishing becomes necessary, then we recommend Sasign’s Acrylic Polish. Designed to work in harmony with Sasign’s Acrylic Cleaner, the polish will remove most scratches and abrasions. If the scratch is too deep, use 600 grit wet and dry sandpaper to remove it, then use Sasign’s “Heavy” Acrylic Polish to eliminate the sanding scratches. This is a very aggressive polish made from a complex grit that breaks down into constantly smaller particles as you use it. The longer you work it into the surface, the smaller the particles become and the smoother the surface you are working on becomes. Again, use a soft cloth to prevent undesired scratches and work the polish into the damaged area in a combination of movements designed to get to the core of the scratch. This should bring you to a virtually clear surface but to insure a perfect job, polish the area with Sasign’s “Light” Acrylic Polish. When finished, clean with Sasign’s Acrylic Cleaner to leave an anti-static protective coating.
